Although a Mechanical Engineer by training, Philip has been working with the Internet since 1993 when he first came into contact with it whilst at university. A spell in research saw him gain an Engineering Doctorate before working in the steel industry for a number of years. This was followed by a move into software testing and development.

Having set up a number of successful and profitable web sites of his own, Philip left steady employment and set up his own web development company specialising in the use of Open Source technology so that he could share his expertise with his clients.

In 2005, Philip joined the Opportunity Wales team first as Web Services Manager and then as the Head of Web Services where he’s responsible for the day-to-day running of the Opportunity Wales Web site. He’s a regular public speaker and has contributed much of the recently published technical content on the site.

In 2007 and 2008, Philip has successfully delivered a series of workshops to small businesses showing them how to benefit from eBusiness applications such as search engine optimisation.

In his spare time he runs over twenty income generating Web sites operating in various niches and is always about to start another project.
